The conference of the IAPL from 6-8 November 2008 took place in Gandia/Valencia, Spain.

Dieser Band enthält die Dokumentation eines Colloquiums, das im Jahr 2005, rund ein Jahr nach der großen EU-Erweiterung des Jahres 2004, in Wien und Budapest zum Thema des Europäischen Zivilverfahrensrechts abgehalten wurde. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Rechtsgebiet, das in der Europäischen Union immer größere Bedeutung gewinnt, zumal der "Europäische Justizraum" bereits durch sieben Verordnungen ausgestaltet wird. Die zehn Referate des Colloquiums wollen einerseits über den derzeitigen Stand des Europäischen Zivilprozessrechts informieren und den Blick auf seine künftige Entwicklung richten, während andererseits die Probleme dargestellt werden, die sich bei der Anerkennung und Vollstreckung gerichtlicher Entscheidungen in den neuen Mitgliedstaaten der EU ergeben.
