Associate Professor Position (W2- Professur) for Clinical Neurobiology - available for 5 years

The professorship is associated with research and teaching in Clinical Neurology and Neurobiology. Within the department there is a strong neuroscience research focus, mainly on stem cell and inflammatory network based treatment concepts for neurodegenerative disorders and neurooncology. Intensive care medicine is well developed, a professional clinical study infrastructure allows rapid translation of neuroscience concepts into clinical practice. We would appreciate candidates to integrate into the Bavarian Stem Cell Research Network ForNeuroCell, and to have interest in imaging technologies (nuclear magnetic resonance). In academic teaching there is a multi faculty international master program “Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences”. We seek for an international renowned neuroscientist (Phd or MD) with specific interest in translational research.

The applicant should have an academic degree in basic science or medicine, qualification as an academic teacher; habilitation or an adequate scientific qualification, or additional scientific qualifications in context of an assistant professorship are also required. At the time of assignment candidates should not be older than 52 years, in specific circumstances exceptions may be allowed (see Art. 10 Abs. 3 Satz 2 BayHSchPG).
