Mirjamaija Mikkilä-Erdmann from the University of Turku (Finland) visited our research group at 30th of November 2011.
She presented her current project:
Challenges in learning of medical expertise: development of conceptual comprehension and clinical reasoning skills.
Our research group is cooperating with the Department of Educational Science of the University of Turku in research since years. In the course of this research cooperation we had the idea to develop a joint degree course. Henriikka Salminen and Dr. Koen Veermans from the University Turku (Finland) came to Regensburg from 12th to 13th of September 2011 to work out a concrete plan.
In this project meeting we discussed details of our cooperation and further steps for the implementation of the joint degree course.
The core issue of the interdisciplinary course “Werte bilden. Grundlagen und empirische Erfassung ethischen Lernens” [Educate Values. Principles and Measurement of Ethic Learning] was the question how ethical learning can be implemented in the concept of action oriented education.
Prof. Dr. G. Nunner-Winkler (Max-Planck-Institut of Cognition and Neuro Science, Munich) gave a lecture on moral development of children and adolescents.
You can find further information on this topic in the „Neuen Züricher Zeitung“ (in German): http://www.nzz.ch/2006/12/10/ws/articleEPZ6N.html

The lecture of Prof. Dr. F. Oser (Fribourg University, Switzerland) had the provoking title
"Lieber Gauner sein, als doof: Von der Lust das moralische Leiden zu umgehen und Zwiespältiges politisch zu rechtfertigen." [It is better to be a scoundrel than to be dumb: The passion to circumvent moral suffering and to politically justify ambiguity.]
