"reAKTIV -
Interactivity in lectures: The meaning of feedback and interactive elements within lectures"

In natural scientific degree programs usual mass lectures are widely characterized by teacher-centered instruction. This is even more in lectures that are offered to students through live video (location-independant) or recorded video (location- and time-independant).

In the project interactive elements shall be integrated reactively, based on a webinar technology (Poll Everywhere) with use of smartphones, tablet Computers or Laptops on part of the attendants.

With the aid of this technology it is possible that students report understanding problems or questions e.g. through difficulty categorization directly to the lecturer. At the same time students get the possibility to rate their state of knowledge, e.g. through questions displayed during lecture. The thus obtained information can be used by the students in their preparation at home for the next lecture on the one side and by the lecturers for planning their further sessions on the other side. Within the project this procedure will be tested and researched in required courses of the Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
