Geometric and algebraic topology of manifolds and groups (simplicial volume, bounded cohomology, l¹-homology, L²-invariants) |
Invariants such as simplicial volume and bounded cohomology provide an interesting link between the topology of manifolds and geometric group theory. My research aims at a better understanding of invariants of this type and at their applications in manifold topology; a typical application is to derive degree theorems for certain classes of manifolds. |
