Some Research Projects
- Investigation of cooperative dynamic processes of solvents, salts,
surfactants, and micelles by dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) and the
characterisation of the corresponding nano-structures
- Structure and dynamics of surfactant solutions probed by static and dynamic
light scattering and various neutron scattering techniques
- Structures and enzyme activities in complex liquids probed by micro-DSC
(dynamical differential scanning calorimetry)
- Investigation of enzyme reactions in nano-structured liquids and their
optimisation through selective modification of the solution structure
- Characterisation of aggregates and well-ordered structures by the
combination of titration calorimetry and fluorescence spectroscopy
- Characterisation of adsorbates on complex liquid / solid interfaces by
scanning probe microscopy (AFM, STM ...)
- Optimisation of the solubility and characterisation of the solution
behaviour of hydrophobic and hydrophilic polymers in aqueous media
- Investigation of the structure and the reactivity in inverse aqueous
micro-emulsions in super-critical CO2
- Investigation of vapour / liquid equilibria (VLE) by precise
vapour-pressure measurements; determination of osmotic and activity
coefficients
- Development and application of theories for the description and prediction
of microscopic and macroscopic properties of complex solutions based on
statistical mechanics
- Development of novel electrolytes for high-energy storage devices
- Ab-initio simulations of the kinetics of hydrolysis reactions
