Prof. Dr. Georg Schmeer
Research activities
- Investigation of chemical reactions in liquid phase
- Development of devices for rapid reactions in solution
- Development of experimental devices for the investigation of kinetic and
thermodynamic phenomena in supercritical phases.
- Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) of
polymer- and tenside films or metallic and non-metallic surfaces and
electrodes.
- Ab-initio and semiempirical quantum chemical calculation of chemical
reactions: Study of the kinetics of the hydrolysis and solvolysis of
substituted carboxylic esters. Calculation of gas-phase radon and
implementation of solvent effects via SCRF and related methods.
