PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT
Invest in People!
Innovative Doctoral Studies in a Knowledge Based Society
The innovative three years PhD project "Invest in People! Innovative Doctoral Studies in a Knowledge Based Society" has started in March 2010. This is a joint project of the Regensburg, Vienna and Babeş-Bolyai (Cluj-Napoca, Romania) Universities together with the Romanian Academy. The project is coordinated by the Babeş-Bolyai University.
Within the project’s framework the Babeş-Bolyai University will send ca. 200 PhD students of all disciplines with proper fellowships abroad for supplementary qualification. Many of them are expected to come to Regensburg.
The Project’s aim is twofold. On the one hand, during their fellowship abroad the PhD students should acquire supplementary skills, e.g. soft skills. On the other hand, the students should obtain the possibility to work in an international environment and to have their thesis supervised also by professors from the University of Regensburg.
For the University of Regensburg this innovative cooperation scheme in the field of doctoral studies means a substantial intensification of its internationalisation trajectory, especially through the close cooperation with the Babeş-Bolyai University.
