Financial Support

Usually, PhD students receive financial support through temporary employment as academic staff or from scholarships.

Temporary employment opportunities are mostly funded through third-party funding, followed by cooperation agreements with industry and business and temporary employment financed by the university.

A formal registration ('Immatrikulation') at the university is not required, however can be usefull, e.g. benefits with student cards or for health insurance. It may also be necessary to fullfill visa requirements.
