The faculty

When founding the university in the sixties, at that time new developing disciplines of molecular biology were already integrated equally next to the organismic biology. Moreover, the theoretical-clinical disciplines were integrated within the same faculty resulting in the Faculty of Biology and Preclinical Medicine.

The faculty is located next to its own botanical gardens on the campus of the university with all laboratories, mechanical workshops, offices and an own library comprised in an own complex building.  All other faculties and facilities of the university are in close walking distance.
