Course description
The course focuses on the following topics:
- Fundamentals of capital budgeting
- Valuing stocks
- Capital markets and the pricing of risk
- Optimal portfolio choice and the CAPM
- Estimating the cost of capital
- Capital structure in a perfect market
- Debt and taxes
- Capital budgeting and valuation with leverage

"Finanzierung" (Introduction to Finance)

Required reading
The textbook for the course is “Corporate Finance“, Berk/DeMarzo, 5th edition, Pearson 2019.
Exchange students
An optional English tutorial provides further support for exchange students. In addition, exchange students can take the exam either in German or English.

Lecture in German, tutorial in German, optional English tutorial.
Grading policy
The grades of the course base upon a final exam. The students have a total of 60 minutes for the exam.

We offer two tutorials. Students are expected to actively participate in one of them.

Exercises are provided and should be prepared in advance to the weekly tutorial.
Tutorial for exchange students
