THESIS TITLE
Information Seeking Behavior in Social Networks: Re-Finding on Twitter
SUMMARY
The problem of re-findig, i. e. finding previously seen information again, is an everyday issue in managing our personal information (personal information management, PIM). This information can come from various sources and be of different types, like paper print-out, e-mails, websites or search engine results. Also status updates from social networks can be counted as worthy sources of information. In particular the thesis examines the problem of re-finding on Twitter, taking into account several aspects like: motivation for finding previously seen tweets, which methods users have to preserve and find tweets again how twitter supports users in the task of re-finding. Finally there's the question how search users interfaces for re-finding purposes on social networks should be desigend properly.
