The set-up of the winterschool will allow young forensic researchers to (1) learn about the most recent developments in general psychology and (2) how to apply such insights in the study of antisocial behavior. General psychology provides an in-depth understanding of normal psychological functioning (i.e., attention, learning, emotion, inhibition, motivation). Forensic psychology, on the other hand, typically focuses on abnormality, on deviant behavior, with an important focus on the prediction and treatment of antisocial behavior. Most importantly, our school provides a unique opportunity for networking as it allows our applicants to discuss their research with the leading experts in the field and to connect with each other.

poster/talks

Awarded students and Post-docs are requested to prepare a talk or a poster and to prepare the presentation of the experts within their workshop (chairing duties).

The workshops include 20 min talks for each expert (2 experts/workshop) and 15 min talks for two PhD students or Post-docs each with matching project topics. The remaining 20 min are dedicated for discussion. An important added value of this winter school is that the PhD students will have sufficient time for personal conversations with the experts within the three days, between the sessions and in the evenings.

All participants, who have no talk during a workshop, are asked to present their research project on a posters during the dedicated poster session.

The selection of a research project for a talk or poster is implemented by the organizational committee depending on the thematic eligibility.
