Seeing a Doctor

Where do you find a doctor?

If you get sick during the day please contact your general practitioner. To find a  doctor check the phone book for the list of addresses (look under the letter “A –  Ärzte”). Many doctor‘s offices are closed on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

On weekends and bank holidays as well as nights, please call the following number: 01805-19 12 12 (only valid in Regensburg). You will receive the address and phone number of a doctor on duty. Since April 2012 you may also use the following number 116 117, which is valid all over Germany.

For dentists on duty, please contact the dental clinic: (0941) 944-0.

Which documents do you have to present?

Always carry your insurance card with you. Students who are insured through the  European Insurance Agreement (EHIC) receive their card from the insurance in  their home country.

Students who have a German statutory health insurance, receive their card from the German insurance provider.
