Visiting Students

Who can apply as a "Visiting Student"?

Universität Regensburg has signed more than 265 partnership agreements with universities around the world in order to further academic exchange. If your home institution has no bilateral agreement with Universität Regensburg or if UR has no agreement for your subject area, you can apply as a so-called visiting student.

In that case UR will try to make it possible for you to come to Regensburg as a visiting student. However, we cannot guarantee your admission as admission depends on the availability of places in your study area.

Your advantages as a Visiting Student:

• You are free in your choice of courses.
• You can participate in the orientation programme for exchange students.
• The International Office will act as your coordinator for your study abroad semester at UR and will issue a transcript of records for you at the end of your academic stay.
• You are exempt from the German Language Examination (DSH). You should have German language skills on level B2 however.

Costs:

You will have to pay the tuition fee of 500,- Euro per semester plus the student service fee of about 114,- Euro per semester (as for Jan 2013). This student service fee includes a semester ticket for public transportation in Regensburg and its surrounding area.

Accommodation:

You will have to find accommodation on your own. However, the International Office will help you with useful addresses. Further information on accommodation: list of useful addresses.
