Prof. Dr. Reinhard Richardi
Born March 21, 1937 in Berlin. Married, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, roman-catholic.
Due to the war 1943 primary school in Dresden, after the flight from Angermünde since 1945 in Berlin, there 1956 Abitur (university-entrance diploma) at a humanistic grammar school.
1956 to 1960 law studies at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Munich. 1960 First Legal State Examination and dissertation at Alfred Hueck. Scientific assistant at the Seminar for Labour and Economic Law (University of Munich). 1964 Second Legal State Examination in Munich. 1967 professorial doctorate (Habilitation) at the law faculty of the University of Munich (venia legendi civil law, commerce and economic law and labour law).
Since 1968 professor (chair for labour and social law, civil and commercial law) at the University of Regensburg. Rejected calls to the Free University of Berlin (1967), Göttingen (1976) and Heidelberg (1979). Professor emeritus since 2005, interim professor at the University of Regensburg since 2008.
1973-1975 dean of the faculty of law and ecomomics, 1988-1992 prorector (vice-president) of the University of Regensburg. 1980-1988 peer reviewer for the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft for commercial, economic and labour law. 1988-2005 liaison officer (Vertrauensdozent) of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft at the University of Regensburg. Since 1993 Member of the ethics committee of the University Hospital of Regensburg. 2005 reviewer for the evaluation process "law studies" in Baden-Württemberg for the state's foundation Evaluationsagentur Baden-Württemberg (Evalag).
Vice-President of the German labour court society (1999-2008), since then honorary member. Chairman of the board of the German catholic church for labour law questions (Vorsitzender der Zentralen Gutachterstelle der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz, roughly equivalent to a supreme ecclesiastical court in that area; 1988-2005), President of the new Supreme Catholic Ecclesiastical Labour Court for Germany (since 2005). Member of the board of the Foundation Catholic University of Eichstätt (1998-2008, during the vacancy of the Bishop from October 2005 to December 2006 Chairman). Chairman of the German section of the international society for the law of labour and social security (1981-1995). Chairman of the academic law society of Regensburg (1987-2005). Chair of the Wiesbaden Symposium on labour and employment law (since 1996).
1996 Knight of the Papal Order of Saint Gregory (awarded by Pope John Paul II.). 1990 Medal of the State of Bavaria for social merits. 2001 Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
