The SFB 1350 / TRR 374 supports and contributes to the goals of the universities to improve the compatibility of family and career. In addition to ensuring childcare, the creation of a family-friendly environment is essential: "Family friendliness is not just childcare".

The Family Services established at the University of Regensburg (Familienservice der Universität Regensburg), the University hospital Regensburg (Beruf und Familie am Universitätsklinikum Regensburg) and the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and Universtity hospital Erlangen (Familienservice der FAU und des Universitätsklinikums Erlangen) offer childcare measures, advice and support with regard to a better compatibility of family and career and develop supportive measures for problems with the care of relatives.

Flexible working (time) models including modern technical equipment also promote the compatibility of family and work. The entire university task of the next few years, to position family friendliness even more clearly as a cross-sectional task, is decisively supported by the SFB / TRR.

      

Holiday care and emergency child care

The SFB 1350 / TRR 374 is member of the F³G network at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (https://www.familienservice.fau.de/f%C2%B3g-verbund/f%C2%B3g-verbund). F³G supports the securing of contingent places in crèches, kindergartens and day nurseries, the establishment of parent-child rooms and emergency child care for TRR scientists in Erlangen.

All members of the TRR can take advantage of the childcare measures funded by F³G during the school holidays and childcare at events and conferences at FAU and the University Hospital Erlangen. These services are organised by the Family Service of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (https://www.familienservice.fau.de/angebote).

The TRR also supports the offer of the Family Service of the University of Regensburg, which, in addition to other family-friendly support measures, offers holiday care for children at the University of Regensburg.
