Cosmopolitan languages in the Mediterranean: book launch and discussion

On 26 January at 16:00, Karla Mallette (Michigan) will be in conversation with Daniel König (Konstanz) to discuss her book Lives of the Great Languages: Arabic and Latin in the Medieval Mediterranean, which was published in 2021 with Chicago University Press. Her work discusses the dissemination of Arabic and Latin in the Mediterranean space in the Middle Ages. The book challenges the national container that is still often applied to the study of languages. The discussion will take place online and in English.
