We are delighted that the German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved our follow-up proposal on affordance-based decision-making.
Our research investigates how people make informed judgements about whether an action is possible – for example, whether a cup is within reach or whether a road can be crossed safely. We are particularly interested in how these decision-making processes change with age or following neurological conditions such as a stroke.
We are also investigating whether virtual reality is a suitable method for measuring these abilities – and possibly also for specifically training them.
