The University of Regensburg (UR) achieved excellent results in the latest CHE University Ranking 2026. Students rated the overall study situation, support from teaching staff, and study organization particularly positively in the degree programs Business Administration, Law, Economics, and Business Informatics.
Published on May 7, 2026, the ranking by the CHE Center for Higher Education Development is considered one of the most influential and comprehensive university rankings in Germany and the German-speaking world. It evaluates degree programs based on a variety of factual and survey-based indicators, with a particular focus on students’ assessments and experiences.
In all four evaluated disciplines, the University of Regensburg achieved top-group placements in key assessment categories. The programs performed especially well in student evaluations of the overall study situation (with ratings between 3.9 and 4.2 out of 5 stars), support from teaching staff (between 4.0 and 4.4 stars), study organization (between 4.2 and 4.5 stars), and the range of courses offered (between 4.0 and 4.2 stars).
The degree programs also achieved outstanding results in subject-specific categories:
Business Administration received additional top ratings in student support services, support for studying abroad, digital teaching elements, and library facilities. The program also reached the top group in the factual indicators for international orientation and completion of degrees within an appropriate timeframe.
Law performed particularly strongly in library facilities. In addition, support provided at the beginning of studies was ranked among the top group.
Students in Economics gave positive evaluations especially to exams, digital teaching elements, library facilities, and learning spaces. The program also achieved a top-group position for degree completion within an appropriate timeframe.
Business Informatics received very positive ratings for exams, digital teaching elements, and learning spaces. Support at the beginning of studies was also highlighted particularly positively.
Overall, the evaluated degree programs at the University of Regensburg achieved top-group placements in 30 out of 44 assessed indicators.
