From 22 to 26 September 2025, the 42nd Congress of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Soziologie took place at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Duisburg Campus). Prof. Dr. Anna Steigemann was re-elected as chair of the Sektion Stadt- und Regionalsoziologie (Urban and Regional Sociology Section).
