On November 25 at 13:30, Margret Hamm will be a guest of Roman Birke at the University of Regensburg, who is working with students in a seminar on National Socialist eugenics and the so-called “euthanasia” murders.

Margret Hamm became managing director of the Association of “Euthanasia” Victims and Forced Sterilization (Bund der “Euthanasie”-Geschädigten und Zwangssterilisierten) in 2001. Already active in the BEZ, in this role she was instrumental in the Bundestag's decision in 2007 to condemn the 1933 Act on the Prevention of Offspring with Hereditary Diseases. On the basis of this law, at least 300,000 people were forcibly sterilized during the Nazi era. For many, it remains the starting point of a later radicalization in which the Nazi regime murdered several hundred thousand people with disabilities. Margret Hamm will give an overview of her activities, classify the compensation policy of the Federal Republic of Germany and will be available to answer questions afterwards.
