Research field within the Alliance ("Themenverbund")

The focus of research at the Department of Real Finance is real estate as an investment for institutional and private investors. Within this, indirect investments such as open and closed-end funds, property companies or REITs are a major theme. This includes empirical investigation as well as regulatory aspects. Another research focus is the integration of real estate in the strategic asset allocation of institutional investors. The real estate investment by private investors is examined in the context of so-called life-cycle models.

The research is interdisciplinary in particular in the areas of capital market law and the programming of optimizations and simulations.
