Award for Exceptional Engagement by Early Career Female Researchers at FIDS
On November 27, 2024, the FIDS award for exceptional engagement by early career female researchers was awarded for the first time. The award winners are
- Dr. Tanja Auge (Data Engineering Group),
- Magdalena Glas (Information Systems I Group), and
- Melanie A. Kilian (Information Science Group).
Information on the award winners
All three award winners have represented the mid-level faculty on the Faculty Council since FIDS was founded.
Dr. Tanja Auge is also involved as the 1st Deputy Women's Representative of FIDS and as a board member of the UR Data Hub.
Magdalena Glas was involved in the development of the FIDS doctoral regulations and was a member of several appointment committees.
Melanie Kilian is the representative for public relations at FIDS and was involved in the development of the new degree programs “Computer Science” and “Data Science”.
Information about the award
The award recognizes extraordinary commitment to academic self-governance and teaching that benefits the entire faculty. It is usually awarded once a year. The decision to award the prize is made by a five-member jury consisting of the Dean, Vice Dean, Dean of Studies, Dean of Research and the Equal Opportunities Officer for Women in Science and Art at FIDS. The jury is chaired by the Dean of FIDS.
