Dr. Alexander Schiller was born in Regensburg in 1989. In October 2008 he started studying the Bachelor of Science degree program Mathematics with minor subject Economics at the University of Regensburg and successfully completed it in September 2011. In addition, he worked as a student research assistant at the Faculty of Mathematics. In his bachelor thesis he dealt with formal groups and local class field theory. From October 2011 to January 2014, Dr. Alexander Schiller studied the Master of Science degree program Mathematics at the University of Regensburg. He focused on arithmetic geometry and opted for minoring in Information Systems. In his master thesis he analyzed positivity properties of the Deligne pairing. In September 2012 Dr. Alexander Schiller started working as a student research assistant at the Chair for Information Systems II at the Unversity of Regensburg. Since February 2014, he was working as a research associate at the Chair for Information Systems II. In December 2019, Dr. Alexander Schiller received his PhD from the University of Regensburg. He currently works as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair.


Dr. Alexander Schiller works as a reviewer for scientific journals (e.g., Decision Support Systems (DSS), Journal of Decision Systems (JDS)) and an editor and reviewer for international conferences (e.g., Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI), Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS), International Conference on Business Process Management (BPM)). He is author of articles in scientific journals such as Decision Support Systems (DSS), Electronic Markets (EM), Journal of Decision Systems (JDS) and ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality (JDIQ). Moreover, he has presented the results of his work on international conferences such as the European Conference of Information Systems (ECIS) and the Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI).


His research interests include, in particular, data and information quality, data and text mining as well as the planning of business processes.
