Jussi Karlgren (Stockholm) talks about "Words, vectors and high-dimensional space"

Mittwoch 18. Dezember 2019, 18:00 Uhr – 20:00 Uhr

AI@UR talk

Jussi Karlgren is a researcher in language technology from Stockholm.
He is the founder of text analysis company Gavagai, a research advisor in text analysis at Recorded Future, and is a principal research scientist at Spotify. He has for the past several years worked mainly on large scale models of semantics learned from text and implemented as a vector space.

Semantic vector space models are of great practical value and are increasingly
popular: the current generation of deep learning models belong to the same family. This talk will discuss semantic vector space models in general: they have very attractive qualities both intuitively and computationally, but also risk certain mathematical and linguistic overgeneralisations and limitations. These can have practical consequences.

Der Eintritt ist frei.

Alle Interessierten sind herzlich willkommen.
