Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Welcome to the website of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Regensburg!

Research

Research at the department of pharmacology and toxicology is focused to characterize mechanisms and physiological/pathophysiological role of NO/ANP and cyclic nucleotides (e.g. cGMP) which could be the basis for the development of innovative pharmacological concepts.
At the department of pharmacology and toxicology the following research topics are preferentially analysed:

  •  Signalling mechanisms and physiology/pathophysiology of NO/ANP/cGMP in the heart and circulation system, in platelets and in the kidney
  • Signal transduction and substrate proteins of the cGMP-dependent protein kinase inter alia the substrate protein IRAG
  • Intracellular calcium regulation
  • Function of cyclic pyrimidine nucleotides
  • Pharmacokinetic analysis e.g. of antibiotics

Teaching

The diverse lectures and courses for pharmacy anc chemistry students are described in the section “Studium” on our german homepage.
