We are looking for a research scientist at the post doc level starting at the earliest possible date, no later than October 1st 2026. the official German denomination of the position is: 

Akademischen Rätin oder eines Akademischen Rats auf Zeit
in der Funktion eines wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiters oder einer wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiterin (m/w/d)

The position is temporary (3 years) with the prospect of another three years extension. Paymennt follows the pay group of public service (Besoldungsgruppe A13). 

Research in our lab focusses on processes of cognitive control and its affective and motivational modulation. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Experimental basic research associated with the research topics of the lab
  • Teaching courses of 5 hours per semester (usually one pracitcal course and one in general or applied psychology; courses can also be taught in English)
  • Administrative duties
  • Supervision of BSc and MSc theses

Prerequisites:

  • Master or Diploma Degree in Psychology or related disciplines (e.g., cognitive science) with a focus on experimental psychology
  • Ph.D. in  basic psychological research
  • Hands-on experience in programming (e.g. PsychoPy, Lab.js) 
  • Statistical expertise and experience in standard statistical packages (SPSS, R).
  • Good mastery of spoken and written English (German is a plus)
  • Willingness to move to Regensburg/Germany for the period of the project

1 fully funded Ph.D. position (4 years) is available at the Institute for Experimental Psychology (Chair of Professor Gesine Dreisbach) at the University of Regensburg, Germany

We are looking for a Ph.D. student for a period of four years (starting spring 2026 or later). The position is paid according to TV-L13 (75%, salary agreement for public service employees).

The candidate will work in a research project funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) entitled “From representation to action: Uncovering how task representations shape voluntary task choice”. The research project is part of a DFG Research Unit entitled “Voluntary task switching:
Cognitive processes and models to account for task choices”. In this context, regular meetings with other project groups and international guests allow for collaborations and advanced training in selective methods. All meetings will be held in English.

Your responsibilities:

  • Programming of behavioral experiments outlined in the research proposal
  • Coordination of lab facilities
  • Data analyses and documentation
  • Participating in manuscript writing

Prerequisites:

  • Master Degree in Psychology or related disciplines (e.g., cognitive science) with a focus on experimental psychology
  • Strong interest in basic psychological research
  • Hands-on experience in programming (e.g. PsychoPy, Lab.js) or the willingness to learn programming
  • Statistical expertise and experience in standard statistical packages (SPSS, R).
  • Good mastery of spoken and written English
  • Willingness to move to Regensburg/Germany for the period of the project
