Leitthema Psychobiologie des Stresses

Unser übergreifendes Forschungsthema ist das Thema Stress. Stressbezogene Beeinträchtigungen der seelischen und körperlichen Gesundheit stellen weltweit ein zentrales gesellschaftliches Problem dar. Das Wissen über die genauen psychischen und biologischen Mechanismen, wie Stress das Risiko zum Beispiel für eine Depression oder eine Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankung beim Menschen erhöht, ist derzeit allerdings noch sehr fragmentarisch. Ziel ist es daher, relevante biopsychologische Mechanismen der Stressregulation in einem interdisziplinären und multimethodalen Ansatz aufzudecken.
