As some participants come with a background in nonarchimedean geometry while others come with a background in tropical geometry, there will be introductory lectures on Monday. They are supposed to provide a common background for all participants.

The introductory lectures will be held by:

  • Felipe Rincón (Queen Mary University of London): Introduction to tropical geometry
  • Alheydis Geiger (University of Tübingen): Applications of tropical geometry
  • Vlerë Mehmeti (Université de Paris-Saclay): Introduction to non-archimedean geometry
  • Andreas Mihatsch (University of Bonn): Connection between non-archimedean and tropical geometry.

From Tuesday till Friday, some of the participants will present their own work in talks.

There will also be plenty of time for social events in the evenings and afternoons. Please remember to bring swimming clothes and a towel if you want to swim in the Danube river, and sports clothes if you want to join the football / frisbee / spike ball match.
