A master thesis can be written in both summer and winter terms.

Prerequisites

A master thesis requires the successful participation in the Research Seminar - Production Management.

Types of Master's theses

The Master thesis at the Chair of Production Management is a scientific work with a focus on the topics in the areas of production management, design and control of production systems and Industry 4.0.

The following types of theses are offered:

• literature reviews,
• implementation of business analytics methods,
• theses in cooperation with industry partners.

Topic assignment

If you are interested in a master thesis at the Chair of Production Management, please contact us via e-mail at productionmanagement@ur.de. Please address the following questions in your e-mail:

• What type of master thesis are you interested in?
• Which topics / application are you particularly interested in?
• Which methodology do you want to use?
• Which courses at the Chair of Production Management have you taken?
• Have you gained experience with specific software solutions or programming skills from other courses or internships?

If you have your own topic proposal for a master thesis in cooperation with an industry partner, please also answer the following questions:

• Which research question do you want to work on?
• Which methodology do you want to use to answer it?
• How do these two aspects fit to problems and solution approaches already described in the scientific literature?
• How do the research question and methodology match with the focus areas of the Chair of Production Management?
