Information on the Master’s programme
The revised examination and study regulations for the Regensburg Master’s programme in ‘Philosophy’ (M.A.) will come into force in the 2026/27 winter semester.
In the new Master’s programme in Philosophy, you will be able to study the subject of philosophy in its entirety. In the specialisation modules, you will acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in theoretical philosophy, practical philosophy and the history of philosophy. The research and final modules are designed to introduce you to independent research in philosophy, the presentation of projects and the preparation of your Master’s thesis. An interdisciplinary compulsory-elective module gives you the opportunity to attend courses in one of the four compulsory-elective subjects: Psychology, Political Science, Law and the History of Science.
Applications for a place on the Master’s programme in Philosophy (starting in the summer semester of 2027) can be submitted until 15 January 2027.
Prospective students who have not yet studied philosophy, or who have earned fewer than 60 credit points in philosophy as part of their Bachelor’s degree, are also eligible to apply. These applicants will undergo an admissions procedure, which includes an oral admissions interview.
Further information can be found in the Examination and Study Regulations for the Master’s programme in ‘Philosophy’ (M.A.).
