We are once again carrying out a teaching research project in the city of Regensburg for the state elections in Bavaria on 8 October 2023. Once again, many students from the University of Regensburg are involved in the project. We are conducting written surveys, door-to-door visits, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with citizens in selected Regensburg neighbourhoods. The collection of this diverse information enables us to examine and answer current questions of empirical psephology together with our students, such as
- Who is participating in the 2023 Bavarian state election and who is not?
- What are the motives for non-participation?
- What types of non-voters are there?
- Can non-voters be mobilised again and if so, how?
- What are the reasons for switching voters in the 2023 state election?
- Where do voters in Bavaria switch to? To other political parties or to the party of non-voters?
- What are the most important issues in the 2023 Bavarian elections and which political parties are expected to be able to find solutions?
Together with our students, we are also planning to publish these research results with Springer VS.
