We are pleased to announce that Professor Odzuck will be giving a lecture at UC Berkeley on 10 September 2026 on the topic of ‘Plato’s Critique of Democracy’. The lecture will argue that, in his analysis of democracy, Plato examines the psychological, institutional and conceptual dimensions of populism and its connection to tyranny – dimensions that could also be significant for understanding the problems facing democracies today.
