Dear friends of Regensburg IP,
i actually wanted to wish you a peaceful year at the beginning of the year, but Putin and Trump obviously have other plans. We will once again have our hands full analysing world politics with you and drawing the right conclusions.
On 13 January, I will be speaking at the VHS Regensburg on Regensburg's Haidtplatz in the Thom-Dittmer-Palais at 7 pm on "One year of Trump II: Consequences for Europe and Germany". I will also be talking about Venezuela and Greenland.
On 14 January, I will be discussing "Focus on Security Policy" from 7 to 8 p.m. with Dr Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, Chair of the European Parliament's Defence Committee and a good friend of Regensburg IP, who is clever and never at a loss for a clear word. We do this via video link, here you can watch and join in the discussion:

And on 20 January, my brilliant friends Gerlinde Groitl and Volker Depkat, both professors at the University of Regensburg, will be discussing "One Year of Trump" with me. Venue: H24 at the University of Regensburg, time 4-6pm.
The last two events will take place in proven and wonderful cooperation with the Friedrich Naumann/Thomas Dehler Foundation.
If you want to pass the time until then with intellectual insights, you are welcome to read my attached analyses for Nürnberger Zeitung and Stern. Or even better: listen to the podcast with Prof Dr Gerlinde Groitl on SWR yesterday.
Stephan Bierling wishes you and your loved ones good health and joie de vivre (despite all the international horrors)
