CV

I joined the Chair of Economic and Social History of the University of Regensburg as a research assistant (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) in 2025. Between 2019 and 2025, I was a research assistant at the Humboldt University of Berlin, where I completed my PhD on the history of taxation in contemporary Italy. Between 2024 and 2025, I worked at a DFG-funded project: "Towards a new fiscal contract: Taxation, inflation, and politics in Italy 1960-1990". I received my B.A. and M.A. in History from the University of Pisa, where I was also a student of the Scuola Normale Superiore. During my studies, I had the chance to visit many research centres: Paris School of Economics (2025), the University of Cambridge (2023-2024), German Historical Institute in Rome (2021), and the University of Sheffield (2018).

Research

My research interests concentrate on the economic history of the modern era, with a particular focus on the history of public finance and taxation. I am interested in historical political economy, the history of money and inflation, the Golden Age of Western Economic Growth (1945 – 1973), and the political and cultural history of modern Italy, especially after 1945. In my research, I rely equally on qualitative and quantitative research methods, which are also at the centre of my teaching at the University of Regensburg.
