PhD Fellowship Dirac Fermions

PhD fellowship exploring the spin and charge of magnetic Dirac electrons

Spin and charge transport of magnetic Dirac electrons

We are looking for a bright and motivated candidate for a PhD position to perform experiments on Dirac electrons in graphene in close contact to a magnetic 2D material, such as CrSBr. This induces a magnetic exchange coupling, which we will study by spin and charge transport. Experiments will be carried out in the labs of Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Kuemmeth and PD Dr. Jonathan Eroms at Regensburg University. We will collaborate with Dr. Florian Dirnberger at TU Munich, who will be studying exciton properties in those devices.

The position is available from July 1st 2026, or earlier, and currently for up to three years.
