On Friday, 10 April 2026, the first interdisciplinary Neuroimaging Workshop of the University of Regensburg took place in Sedanstraße from 2 pm. Around 50 neuroscientists and interested participants gathered to attend presentations and posters on current neuroimaging research at the University of Regensburg. The event was organised by Prof. Dr. Angelika Lingnau (external link, opens in a new window), Prof. Dr. Jens Schwarzbach (external link, opens in a new window), Prof. Dr. Anton Beer (external link, opens in a new window), Dr. Wilhelm Malloni (external link, opens in a new window) and Dr. Marius Zimmermann (external link, opens in a new window).
Current research from human neuroimaging research was presented at the workshop. Methods included primarily magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, new developments in other neuroscience methods, in particular electroencephalography (EEG) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), were also reported. The presentations included:
- Mark Greenlee: Neural correlates of multisensory processing underlying self-motion perception
- Federica Danaj: Attentional modulation of action representations
- Leo Tomasevic: The relevance of technical stimulation parameters and ongoing brain activity for TMS
- Katharina Rosengarth: Neural plasticity within language and visual functional networks in individuals with brain tumours
- Simon Wein: Functional imaging of neural networks in major depressive disorder
The meeting also included a poster session in which current brain imaging research projects were discussed in depth over drinks, coffee and biscuits. Finally, future developments in neuroimaging research at the University of Regensburg were discussed. The event ended at around 6 pm. Some participants continued the discussions over dinner.
