Studied Medieval History at the University of Regensburg

From introductory seminars right through to graduation, we provide an overview of the ‘big picture’ of medieval history, whilst also addressing specific, detailed issues: our courses combine an exploration of ‘classic’ medieval topics with an introduction to current areas of research and methodologies. Medieval historians can address pressing contemporary issues and, by looking back at a supposedly distant era, explore problems that are in some cases much more closely linked to current issues than might initially appear. Students in particular – for example, trainee teachers – benefit from a history degree that prepares them for the diverse challenges of their professional lives in the 21st century.
