Medieval History at the University of Regensburg

In hardly any other city in Germany is the history of the Middle Ages as evident in the urban landscape as it is in Regensburg. This provides an excellent opportunity to research, study and explore medieval history on site at the University of Regensburg. At the same time, Regensburg was already part of far-reaching transregional networks in the Middle Ages through trade, shipping, and a wide range of political, religious and cultural contacts. The department team therefore makes it its mission to teach and research the history of the Middle Ages in both regional and ‘global’ contexts.
