Medieval History at the University of Regensburg

In hardly any other city in Germany is the medieval past as present in the urban landscape as it is in Regensburg. This greatly facilitates (our) exploration, study and research of local medieval history at the University of Regensburg. At the same time Regensburg was already part of far-reaching transregional (overland and riverine) trade networks in the Middle Ages and retained a wide range of political, religious
and cultural contacts. Our staff therefore undertake/endeavour to reach and research the history of the Middle Ages in both regional and ‚global‘ contexts.
