Doctoral Candidates or Postdocs in Cryptography and Applied Post-Quantum-Cryptography (m/f/d)

The Chair of Data Security and Cryptography has open positions for doctoral candidates and postdocs, especially in applied post-quantum cryptography.

We are looking for colleagues with a strong interest in (post-quantum) cryptography and sound knowledge in mathematics, computer science or physics.

Student Assistant (m/f/d) at the Chair of Machine Learning

with a working time of 30 hours per month for a duration of one year. The compensation will be according to the usual hourly rates for student assistants.

Your tasks: 

• Implementation, development, and improvement of a chatbot for the research results of TRR 374, especially using tools like Llamaindex and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) 
• Support in data evaluation and presentation in joint research projects of the chair and TRR 374 

What we seek: 

• Enrollment in at least the 2nd semester at a German university for a degree that leads to a professional qualification 
• Good knowledge in the field of machine learning 
• Programming skills in Python 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Ideally, prior knowledge in LLMs and tools like LlamaIndex

Several positions for Student Assistants (m/f/d) at the Chair of Machine Learning

With a minimum working time of 34 hours per month for a duration of 6 months starting April 1, 2025. The compensation will be according to the usual hourly rates for student assistants. 

Your tasks: 

• Supervising students exercise classes in the "Machine Learning" lecture (4th semester Bachelor of Computer Science and Data Science) 
• Assisting in the creation of exercises 
• Supporting the coordination and organization of the course 

What we seek: 

• Enrollment in at least the 2nd semester at a German university for a degree that leads to a professional qualification 
• Good knowledge in machine learning, statistics, and stochastics 
• Programming skills in Python or R 
• Excellent communication skills and good English proficiency 
• Ideally, you are enrolled in a quantiative master's program (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Computational Science, or Physics)
