ORGANIZATIONAL THEORIES - LECTURE AND TUTORIAL

Content of lecture and tutorial
Organizations consist of more than process organization and organizational structure, life is raging in them. In and for organizations, it is always about questions of decision-making, distribution of resources, power and (in)equality, organizational culture(s), and the relationship between organizations and their environment. In corporate practice, this organizational diversity often confronts us in the form of problems that need to be solved. Organizational theories offer opportunities to understand and explain practical problems and then develop solutions.

The lecture offers an overview of central organizational theories. You will learn which concepts and considerations are essential in the respective theories, and which aspects and problems of organizations become visible through the respective theory. In the practical course, we relate the theories discussed to current societal challenges in the areas of sustainability, inequality, health and digitalization.
