Research grants for early-career female researchers
To promote equal opportunities for women in research and teaching, the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts provides funding for the ‘Programme for the Realisation of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching’. The funds are intended to support highly qualified early-career female researchers on their path to a professorship and are to be used to cover the researcher’s living expenses. The level of the grant rates and the general funding guidelines are determined by the State Conference of Women’s Representatives at Bavarian Universities. The University of Regensburg (UR) is expanding this programme with additional and supplementary funding as part of the supplementary gender equality measures under the Federal and State ‘Professorinnenprogramm III’ (Programme for Female Professors III).
On this basis, and under the leadership of the University Equal Opportunities Representative for Women in Science and the Arts, UR awards grants once a year amounting to the full funding allocated to it by the State of Bavaria.
Subject to the allocation of funds and subject to budgetary approval, the following grants will be advertised for the calendar year 2026:
(1) Doctoral start-up grants
(2) Doctoral completion grants
(3) Postdoctoral grants
(4) Habilitation grants
(5) Post-habilitation grants
