Cost accounting

Here you will find information on various options for billing costs for our psychotheraputic services.

We would like to point out that costs for the first consultation hours will be invoiced in each individual case, regardless of whether psychotherapy takes place afterwards.

Statutory health insurance

Psychotheraputic consultation and trial sessions

For patients with statutory health insurance, the statutory health insurance covers the costs of psychotheraputic consultations and probatory sessions ("trial sessions") before starting psychotherapy.

Acute treatment

If a psychological disorder is present and indicated by one of our psychotherapists, the costs of acute treatment are also covered by statutory health insurance.

Psychotherapy (short or long-term therapy)

In order for the costs of psychotherapy (short-term or long-term therapy) to be covered by statutory health insurance, the therapist and patient must submit an application to the health insurance company during the probationary phase for the costs of psychotherapy to be covered. The health insurance companies will process this application within approximately three weeks. As soon as the assumption of costs for psychotherapy is confirmed, the actual psychotheraputic sessions begin.

Private health insurance

Psychotheraputic consultations

With private health insurance, there are different regulations regarding the coverage of psychotheraputic sessions depending on the health insurance company and tariff. Patients with private health insurance should therefore find out whether and to what extent psychotheraputic sessions are reimbursed under their insurance tariff before making an appointment for a consultation in our outpatient clinic.

Acute treatments and psychotherapies (short-term and long-term therapy)

If the indication for acute treatment or psychotherapy is established during the psychotheraputic consultation or in the course of probatory sessions ("trial sessions" before starting psychotherapy), an application for cost coverage may have to be submitted to your private health insurance company. Your psychotheraputic will be happy to assist you with this if necessary.

The following questions may be relevant for clarifying whether psychotheraputic sessions will be covered by private health insurance:

  • Is outpatient behavioural therapy possible in a university outpatient clinic with authorisation to bill health insurance companies?
  • Can outpatient behavioural therapy be carried out by a psychotheraputic?
  • Does the therapist have to be licensed in behavioural therapy (psychological psychotheraputic) or can psychotherapists in training also carry out psychotherapy?
  • Does the therapist have to have a licence to practise as well as an entry in the medical register?
  • Does the health insurance company cover the costs of the probationary sessions?
  • How many behavioural therapy sessions does the health insurance fund pay for after the probationary sessions have been completed?
  • Does an application for psychotherapy have to be made after the probationary sessions in order to start the therapy phase?
  • Does the health insurance fund cover the entire hourly fee or only a percentage of it?

If you have any questions or uncertainties regarding the assumption of costs by private health insurance companies, we will be happy to support you. Please contactus by telephone .

Aid

Aid

The subsidy reimburses up to a certain number of psychotheraputic sessions. After the psychotheraputic consultation or the probationary period ("trial sessions" before starting psychotherapy), an application must be submitted to the relevant subsidy office. Your psychotheraputic will be happy to assist you with this.

Self-payers

In addition to billing via health insurance, subsidies or other cost bearers, we also offer cost accounting as a self-payer. Psychotheraputic services are invoiced in accordance with the scale of fees for psychotherapists (GOP).

In the case of self-paying patients, the requirements for effective therapy are of course checked in the same way as for other patients and an individualised therapy offer is created.

If you have any questions about cost accounting as a self-payer, please feel free to contact us by telephone.

In the case of various other cost bearers (employers' liability insurance associations, German Armed Forces, etc.) or in the case of psychotheraputic treatment as a result of an accident, individual clarification may be necessary, which we will be happy to assist you with.
