Diagnostics

In the university outpatient clinic, we carry out well-founded psychological and psychotheraputic diagnostics for various psychological disorders based on current scientific guidelines.

To diagnose psychological disorders, we use the following as required

• a detailed anamnesis interview,
• Questionnaires,
• Interviews,
• as well as performance or behavioural tests in which tasks have to be mastered.

In order to clarify or rule out physical or neurological illnesses, medical diagnostics by medical specialists are also included in the diagnostic process if necessary.

The results of the psychological diagnostics are interpreted by our licenced psychotherapists. A treatment recommendation can then be made. With the help of a detailed diagnosis, psychological disorders can be diagnosed and possible differential diagnoses (i.e. other, possibly applicable diagnoses) can be clarified. A well-founded diagnosis is also useful for selecting the most effective treatment options.
