M.A. Educational Science

The Master's degree programme in Educational Science (M.A.) builds on the Bachelor's degree programme in Educational Science and represents a further professionally qualifying degree. The research-orientated focus gives you the opportunity to carry out empirical studies independently using scientific methods. The range of interdisciplinary courses enables you to look at professionally relevant topics from different perspectives. It thus lays the foundation of the necessary specialist knowledge and skills for a subsequent doctoral programme or a transition into professional practice.

Your competences after graduation

The degree programme enables you to independently scientifically analyse, develop, implement and evaluate educational and learning processes in different organisational and societal contexts. The degree program qualifies graduates for responsible activities in various professional domains (e.g. in business, in educational institutions, in the health sector, in social institutions) and for various fields of pedagogy such as personnel development, organisational development, evaluation or empirical educational research, as well as for further academic qualifications (e.g. doctorate). The competency objectives reflect the close integration of theory, empirical research, project work and application-related issues. A detailed compilation of the competence-oriented programme objectives is available for download (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible).
