  • Methods of computational social science (artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, social network analysis, natural language processing)
  • Methods of empirical social research
  • Digital Humanities

As part of my dissertation, I am focussing on success factors of political communication in social media. I use methods from the fields of data science, natural language processing and machine learning and work with a database of almost 150,000 posts from the last German parliamentary election campaign.

I was also jointly responsible for the professorship's teaching research project on the use of social media in the 2025 federal election campaign. As part of the project, we were able to collect and validate 149,365 Instagram posts together with almost 40 students.
