News: Political science in practice

On 28 and 29 May, the two project days of the practical seminar took place on the premises of the Regensburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). Prof. Dr Simon Bein (head of the seminar), Dr Raphael Gritschmeier (organiser for the IHK) and 25 students spent one and a half exciting days together with many discussions and interesting workshops to gain insights into the day-to-day work of chambers and associations, the strategies of political communication, the political role of companies and challenges in the field of mobility and transport under the heading "Representation of interests and political consulting". Many thanks also to Anna Müller from the Lower Bavaria-Upper Palatinate Chamber of Crafts, Manuel Lorenz and Sarina Danwatte from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Moritz Kinskofer (Chair of Comparative Political Science, specialising in Europe), who led individual workshops, among other things. Ramona Zitzelsberger, the personal advisor to the President of the UR, also shed light on the role of universities at the interface between science and policy advice during the panel discussion on the first day. Degree, the students will now work together to develop policy papers on fictitious scenarios and case studies.
