News: AIM-PRO Launched: A New Project to Advance AI Literacy Across Education and Industry

The Chair of Programming and Software Engineering at University of Regensburg is happy to announce the official launch of AIM-PRO (AI Literacy for Multidisciplinary Professional Readiness and Outreach), a new project designed to equip educators, learners, and professionals with the skills needed to critically engage with artificial intelligence in an era of rapid digital transformation.
As AI continues to reshape societies and economies, the ability to understand, evaluate, and responsibly use AI technologies has become an essential competency—not only within higher education, but across vocational training and the broader workforce. AIM-PRO addresses this growing need by developing innovative, multidisciplinary educational frameworks that bring together AI literacy, open education, generative AI, model-driven engineering, and digital twins.

About the Project

AIM-PRO aims to co-develop AI literacy resources tailored to the specific needs of higher education institutions, vocational education and training providers, and small and medium-sized enterprises. By combining digital, green, and resilience skills with a strong emphasis on responsible AI use, the project seeks to prepare a broad range of learners and professionals for the demands of an AI-driven future. A key focus of the project is the intersection of AI with entrepreneurial competencies, supporting sustainable innovation across sectors.

Our Role in the Project

Within the AIM-PRO consortium, the Chair of Programming and Software Engineering is leading the development of a digital twin for education—an innovative system designed to monitor learning processes and dynamically suggest and tailor educational content related to AI literacy. This digital twin will serve as a responsive tool that adapts to the evolving needs of learners, helping to personalize how AI literacy is taught and understood.

Looking Ahead

With the project now officially underway, the team looks forward to collaborating with partner institutions and stakeholders to build practical, impactful tools and resources that strengthen AI literacy across multiple sectors. Updates on the project's progress, milestones, and outcomes will be shared with the university community as AIM-PRO develops.
