We were delighted to welcome Frank Neumann and Aneta Neumann from the University of Adelaide to our lab in Regensburg. Their visit provided an opportunity to deepen our existing collaborations, discuss ongoing projects, and explore new research directions at the intersection of algorithmic optimization and computational biology.
As part of the visit, Frank and Aneta gave a seminar entitled “Diversity optimization for combinatorial optimization problems.” They presented recent developments in evolutionary diversity and quality-diversity optimization and discussed how these approaches can be used to generate diverse sets of high-quality solutions for combinatorial optimization problems.
Frank leads the Optimisation and Logistics group at the University of Adelaide, with research focusing on evolutionary computation and AI-based optimization. Aneta's research spans evolutionary computation, optimization, and machine learning.
